Rangiwaea Island - General Access Rules
Kia ora Whanau,
The Christmas and New Year period is nearly upon us, and we want to remind everybody about the General Rules we have put in place on Rangiwaea Island to protect our kiwifruit from PSA infection, so there is no entry for vehicles in the orchard, however if you wish to visit the Urupa, all footwear must be sprayed beforehand, and prior permission must be gained from Brendon Taingahue the orchard manager.
Also Whanau coming over to Rangiwaea Island for the day... on their private boats, need to do the same. We have Designated Hygiene Stations with footbaths and spraying bottles located at:
1. Bush entrance from Matakana Island end
2. Rangiwaea Island Wharf
3. Rangiwaea Island Marae
If you have any questions, please talk to Rangiwaea locals. This disease has the potential to wipe out our kiwifruit, so please be vigilant in spraying your shoes.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
