UPDATE 2022:
Kia ora e te whānau
Due to the guidelines of New Zealand’s Covid-19 protection framework the trust was unable to safely and fairly hold the 2021 Annual General Meeting of owners in the best health and safety interests of our beneficial owners.
In December 2021 the trustees sought advise from the Maori Land Court in regards to the 2021 Annual General Meeting that was scheduled to take place in October 2021.
On Wednesday 13th April 2022 the trustees attended via Zoom a Maori Land Court judicial conference with Judge Wano where she agreed with the trustees, that under the current conditions it was fair and reasonable to pass over the 2021 Annual General Meeting.
With that being said, the trustees requested from the judge that the trust be able to:
¨ Pay a dividend as per the trust policy of 40% of net profit after tax to the shareholders,
¨ Accept the year end 28 February 2021 financial statements and
¨ To approve the appointment of “BDO Limited” as the auditor for the period 1 March 2021—28 February 2022 and,
¨ Accept the resignation of Matekahika Samuels as a responsible trustee
All of these requests were approved by the Judge which now enables the trust to move forward.
So what is next?
¨ It is the intention of the trust to pay the shareholder dividend of $386,000.00 pro rata based on shareholding to shareholders on the 3rd June 2022.
¨ Commence the planning of the 2022 Annual General Meeting scheduled to be held in October.
¨ Receive applications of interest to be considered for responsible trustee at the 2022 AGM
